Mrs. Edith Tompkins of Conowingo, MD, passed away on 7 November 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born in Le Trios Moutiers France in 1930, to Jean and Celestine Desbourdes. She was 82 years old.
Edith was the wife of the late Dean L. Tompkins. She is survived by her son, Michel Pasquier and her granddaughter, Michelle Tompkins, along with Bernice Windom, Michelle’s mother. She also leaves behind sisters and brothers and a host of nieces and nephews back in France. Edith was devoted to her loving companion, Tom Delrocini.
Edith was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135, Perryville, MD, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Havre de Grace Elks Lodge No. 1564, Havre de Grace, MD.
Edith enjoyed life to its fullest, she was still working at the AFFES PX at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, something she enjoyed doing. In addition, she enjoyed working in her yard which she took great pride in and also enjoyed playing poker with her family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012, 7 PM until 9 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
