Sharon Diane Thayer, 49 yrs, of Conowingo, MD, died Friday, November 9, 2012, at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born December 30, 1962, in Washington County, VA, she was the daughter of Mary Louise Creasy McCracken and the late Everett V. McCracken.
Sharon was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Oblates of St. Francis DeSales of Elkton, MD.
Sharon is survived by her son, Brandon Fredric Douglas Thayer of Conowingo, MD; brothers and sisters, Cora Ellen Bartlebauth, Ralph Junior McCracken, Linda Lou Montgomery, Judy Ann Moutain, Ronnie Dean McCracken and Everett Vance McCracken.
In addition to her father, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Kenton “Kent” Thayer and brother, Larry Allen McCracken, Sr.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 15, 2012, 1 PM, at Restore Church, 616 Ontario Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Pastor Jess Bousa of Restore Church will officiate. Interment will be private.

It's with much sorrow that we heard of Sharon's going home to be with the Lord. It brings back so many memories of our precious Daughter Amy's going home to be with the Lord. No one had the chance to tell her good bye, but I spent her last night alive with her and Anthony and we had so much fun being together. I'm so grateful for that. Little did we know that the next day she would be gone. I'm so happy that Sharon was able to come to the Hospital with Melissa.Melissa has lost a good Friend and she will be missed terribly.Sharon spent alot of nights at our home and we enjoyed her being there. She was in both of her Weddings. We will keep all of you in our Prayers.It's so hard at times to wonder why God takes them away from us when they have so much to live for.Parents shouldn't have to bury there children;it should be the opposite. MY EYES I SEE HER SMILE, THOUGH MY HEART IS FULL OF PAIN.
