James “Jim” Slayman, 100 years, of Charlestown, MD, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 in the Laurelwood Healthcare Center of Elkton, MD. Born September 9, 1918 in Mill Creek, WVA, he was the son of the late Ollie and Lucy Luckey Slayman.
Mr. Slayman was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during W.W. II. and was the oldest surviving Cecil County veteran of W.W. II. He was the owner/operator of Slayman’s Amoco of North East, MD.
Mr. Slayman is survived by his sons, James Ray Slayman (Audrey), Gerald Slayman (Sharon), Gary Slayman, Ralph Slayman (Wanda), Allen Slayman (Bianca), and Steven Slayman; daughters, Teresa Zenorini (Dave), Karen Hill (Kenny) and Connie Anthony; 18 grandchildren; 41great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Slayman was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Vance Slayman; grandson, Michael James “Jamie” Slayman; and granddaughter, Jessica L. Slayman.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 4, 2019, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, February 4, 2019, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Rev. Ray Graham, Assistant Pastor of the Elkton United Methodist Church, Elkton, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
