Mabel Violet (Shroyer) Shumaker

Mabel Violet Shumaker, 88 years, of Rising Sun, MD, was swept away on Monday, November 5, 2018 to rest in the bosom of our Lord. Born June 20, 1930 in Fairhope, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Carrie E. Shroyer.

Mrs. Shumaker is survived by her daughters, Sharen Kitchens and husband, Ernie, of Edgewood, MD, Judith Michalski and husband, Michael, of Conowingo, MD, Sandra Brown and husband, Reginald, of Rising Sun, MD, and Lynn Barr, and husband, William, of Rising Sun, MD; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Shumaker was a devout Christian woman who loved her family and the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church of Street, MD. She was a very generous, loving, caring woman who helped all in need. She set an example of high standards for her daughters to emulate.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shumaker was preceded in death by her husband, Francis James Shumaker; siblings, Cedric Shroyer, Kenneth Shroyer and Phyllis Reger; and one grandson, Matthew Michalski.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 10, 2018, 11 AM, at the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 3135 Dublin Road, Street, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018, 9 AM until 11 AM, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Tracy Duvall of the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Conowingo Baptist Church Cemetery, Conowingo, MD.
