Samuel Strausser Marderness

Samuel Strausser Marderness, 82 years, of Colora, MD, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at home. Born April 21, 1940 in Mohrsville, PA, he was the son of the late Isaac and Bessie Strausser Marderness.

Mr. Marderness was formerly employed by the Aberdeen Proving Ground of Aberdeen, MD, as an Electrical Engineer.

Mr. Marderness is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, JoAnn C. Marderness; son, Samuel Isaac Marderness; daughter, Amy Jo Hurley; two grandchildren; brother, William Marderness; sisters, Annie Young and Mabel Adam.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Marderness was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Marderness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
