Aaron Das Gupta

Aaron Das Gupta, 81 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 18, 2025 with his loving wife, Runu Das Gupta, by his side. Born November 20, 1943 in Calcutta, India he was the son of the late Krishna and Amita Radha Das Gupta.

Aaron completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in June 1963 at the Indian Institute of Technology. He immigrated to Canada in 1965, completed M.S.M.E. at the Technological University of Nova Scotia, Halifax, Canada in 1968, and completed his Ph.D. at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, VA, in 1975. Aaron was employed as a Mechanical Engineer by the Department of Defense, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, MD. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Aaron lived a full life with joy and pride, spending time with his two children and five grandchildren.

Aaron is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Runu Das Gupta; son, Debraj Das Gupta; daughter, Elora Hilmas; five grandchildren; and sister, Chitrita Sen.

In addition to his parents, Aaron was preceded in death by his brother, Kanak Das Gupta.
