Alexander Varady, Jr.

Alexander Varady, Jr., 83 years, of Charlestown, MD, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 in the V.A. Maryland HealthCare System of Perry Point, MD. Born January 15, 1934 in Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Alexander, Sr. and Bertha Varadi-Varady. Mr. Varady was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Charlestown, MD, and also affiliated with the United Methodist Church of North East, MD. He was a retired Professional Photographer of Nuclear Medicine Technology at the V.A. Maryland HealthCare System of Perry Point, MD. Mr. Varady is survived by his sons, Charles A. Varady and wife, Machele, of Colora, MD, and Michael W. Varady and wife, Karen, of Charlestown, MD; and grandson, Garrett A. Varady of Colora, MD. In addition to his parents, Mr. Varady was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley A. Varady and granddaughter, Amanda Preston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, August 12, 2017, 11:30 AM, at Hopewell Cemetery of Port Deposit, MD. Rev. Dennis Gilbert of the Charlestown Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.
