Alfonso G. Jannone, 86 yrs, of Rising Sun, MD, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away from congestive heart failure and into the Lord’s arms on Saturday, November 9, 2013, with his family by his side.
Al was born on April 28, 1927, in Mt. Ephraim, NJ, the son of the late John and Giovanna (Bonadona) Jannone.
Mr. Jannone served his country in the Navy during World War II and Korea and in the Marines during the Korean War. He worked at Kimbles Glass Division of Owens, Illinois in New Jersey before retiring from the Delaware Memorial Bridge as a toll collector. He also volunteered with the Delaware State Police for many years. He was a member of the Rising Sun Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ida; four daughters, Joan (Erich) Pampuch of Wilmington, DE, Jennie (Larry) Lauer of Ormond Beach, FL, Roseanne Mancuso of Port Orange, FL, and Ruth (Lou) Blakely of Rising Sun; three sons, David Jannone of South Carolina, Steven (Vida) Passion of Reading, PA, and Thomas (Karen) Passion of Athens, AL; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2013, 11 AM, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Chapel of Bear, DE. Burial will be private.
