Alma Jean (Calloway) Jamison

Alma “Jean” Calloway Jamison, age 88, of Brightview Avondell Retirement Community in Bel Air, MD, formerly of Perryville and Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on October 29, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Welch, West Virginia, on January 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Naomi Roberts Calloway. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, Howard M. “Jim” Jamison. She is survived by her 5 children, Carol Bernardi and husband, Joseph, of Perryville, MD, Robert Jamison and wife, Debra, of Winter Haven, FL, Richard Jamison of Chesapeake City, MD, Claudia Kinsey and husband, Stephen, of Havre de Grace, MD and Cindy Jamison of Havre de Grace, MD. She is survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by one sister, Betty Jo Waddell of King, NC. Mrs. Jamison was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perryville, MD, for several years. During World War II, she supported the war effort by working in a munitions plant in Elkton, MD, and sewing parachutes for the troops. She then drove a jeep chauffeuring Colonels at Aberdeen Proving Ground. But her passion and most important job was being a mother and grandmother. She was the ultimate homemaker for over 70 years, and did it with style and grace. If you had the pleasure of knowing her, you adored her. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2012, 12 Noon, at the First Baptist Church of Perryville, 4800 West Pulaski Highway, Perryville, MD 21903. Visitations for family and friends will be held Friday, November 2, 2012, 2 PM until 4 PM and 6 PM until 8 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Rev. Dr. John M.R.
