Almeda Arlene (Long) Winters

Almeda Arlene Winters, 94 years old, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in the Senator Bob Hooper House of Forest Hill, MD. Born October 6, 1922 in Annville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harvey S. and Beatrice K. Hostetter Long. Mrs. Winters was formerly employed by the Harford Memorial Hospital in the Environmental Services Maternity Ward. Mrs. Winters is survived by her sons, Jay L. Winters of Port Deposit, MD, James L. Winters and wife, Bonnie, of Mandan, ND, and Jerry L. Winters of Perryville, MD; daughter, Janice L. Wassmer and husband, Kenneth, of Conowingo, MD; grandchildren, Matthew, Jared, Alexandra, Debra and Dawn; great grandchild, Taysen; brothers, Jacob Long of Annville, PA, and Kenneth Long of Elizabethtown, PA; and sister, Marjorie Jane Fox of Hummelstown, PA. Almeda, also known as Maude and Alma, enjoyed her life to the fullest. Her family was a very important part of her life. She loved flowers, working in her garden, bird watching, taking rides in the country, her annual family reunions, and monthly luncheons in Pennsylvania. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Winters was preceded in death by her son, Jacob L. Winters; daughter, June Ann Winters; brothers, Lester, Stanley, Clarence, Christian and Mearle; and sisters, Anna Jean Gagliano, Joyce Hetrick and Celesta Long. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017, 12 Noon, at the Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., of Annville, PA. Visitations for family and friends will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD, and Saturday, March 25, 2017, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., of Annville, PA.
