Alvin Waller, age 91, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025 at his daughter’s home in Perryville, MD. Born on June 24, 1933 in Hurt, VA, he was the son of the late Randolph Sampson Waller and the late Reecy Simpson Harper. He was a retired accountant for Prince George’s County Gov’t and a U.S. Air Force veteran. While stationed in England, he met his beloved wife, Sybil Waller, who passed away last year just prior to their 70th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his 3 children, Alvin Waller, Jr, Steven Waller, and Linda Robertson, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by all his siblings, Floyd “Dick” Waller, Edmund Waller, Vida Pearl Kapolis, and Larry “Tom” Waller.
In his retirement, he grew prized chrysanthemums and was a judge for the National Chrysanthemum Society. He leaves behind his hand-crafted wood carving collection of an amazing variety of birds.
The family will have a celebration of life service in early summer near the Hurlock Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Amedisys Hospice Foundation in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P. O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903.
