Austin Dale Amos, Jr., 79 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Calvert Manor Healthcare System of Rising Sun, MD. Born February 26, 1934, in Hickory, MD, he was the son of the late Austin D., Sr. and Hazel Lloyd Amos Todd.
Mr. Amos was a member of the Perryville United Methodist Church, member of the Community Fire Company of Perryville, former Mayor of the Town of Perryville, member of the American W.W. II Orphans Network, member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 SAL, member Cecil County Holly Tree Association, member of the Stephenson Lodge No. 135 AF/AM of Darlington, MD, Past Master of Susquehanna Lodge No. 130, former Commissioner of the Town of Perryville, Past President of the Harford-Cecil Volunteer Firemen’s Association, Past President of the Community Fire Company of Perryville, was inducted into the Harford-Cecil Firemen’s Hall of Fame and inducted into the Maryland State Firemen’s Hall of Fame.
Mr. Amos is survived by his wife, Anna Lee Taylor Amos of Perryville, MD; sons, Austin Dale Amos and wife, Dawn, of North East, MD; Alan Amos and wife, Mary, of Conowingo, MD; daughter, Anna Amos Williams of North East, MD; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Amos was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy D. Amos; sister, Virginia Beck Smith; and son-in-law, Leonard E. Williams, Jr.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2013, 2 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitations for family and friends will be held Monday, September 9, 2013, 2 PM until 4 PM, and 7 PM until 9 PM, at the funeral home. The Community Fire Company of Perryville Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, September 9, 2013, 3 PM, at the funeral home. The Stephenson Lodge No. 135 AF/AM Masonic Service is scheduled for Monday, September 9, 2013, 8 PM, at the funeral home. Rev. Ray Graham of the Perryville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.
