Barbara Ann Conrad, age 83, of Conowingo, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 7, 1941, in Rich Hill, North Carolina, Barbara was the daughter of Knowlton and Julia Bechtel (nee Graybeal).
Barbara was a talented floral designer whose artistry and care brought beauty and comfort to many throughout her career at North East Florist. Her creative spirit was matched by a nurturing heart, always making those around her feel seen and special.
Barbara was married to the love of her life, Steven Conrad, who adored her deeply - so much so that he named his truck “The Barbara Ann” in her honor. Their bond was filled with devotion, laughter, and the shared joy of family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Jessica Robinson (John Robinson) and Amanda Fincher (Nate Fincher), grandchildren, Ashton, Christella, Auryn, Rubee Sol, Jonathon, Jessica, and great-grandchildren, Kieley, Aubree, Payton, Lylah, and Camdyn.
She was affectionately known for slipping the dogs treats from the table - even after being told not to - and for cheering loudly from the stands at “the pulls,” supporting Steven at every truck pulling event. Her warmth, humor, and stubborn love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Barbara had a close bond with her parents and found comfort in family traditions, Southern roots, and the simple pleasures of everyday life. She also cherished her many friends.
A celebration of Barbara’s life has been scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, Maryland. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, 11 AM until 12 Noon. Interment will be private.
