Berlin Bantz Cummings, 89 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in the Genesis Healthcare Center, Elkton, MD. Born February 19, 1924 in Webster County, West Virginia he was the son of the late William H. and Angie Hamrick Cummings. Mr. Cummings served in the United States Army as a Private First Class assigned to the 7th Armored Division, Battery C, 489th Field Artillery Battalion, 105 Howitizer Gun Crew. He was formerly employed by the St. Mary’s County Government as an AA Counselor. Mr. Cummings is survived by his brother, Robert Slayman of Rising Sun, MD; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven House in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, 5 PM until 9 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Interment will be private.
