Bessie Schumm Fetterman

Bessie Fetterman, 90 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at her daughter and son-in law’s residence in Perryville, MD.  Born September 17, 1922, in Perryville, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Bessie Yocum Schumm. Mrs. Fetterman is retired from the VA Maryland Healthcare System - Department of Veterans Affairs, in Perry Point, MD, where she was employed as a Human Resource Specialist for 38 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family who will dearly miss her, bowling, traveling, playing the piano, puzzle books, and long walks.  Mrs. Fetterman was also a member of Perryville United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No.27, Ladies Auxiliary to the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135.  She also served six years as Director of Music for Bethel No. 58 and was a supporter of Bethel No. 55 Jobs Daughters. Mrs. Fetterman is a Perryville High School graduate and attended Beacom College. Mrs. Fetterman is survived by her daughter, Ginger Eastridge and husband, Michael, of Perryville; grandchildren, Kimberly Wick and husband, Harrison, of Indiana, PA, Michael Eastridge and wife, Amy, of North East, MD, and Katherine Eastridge of Perryville, MD; 2 great grandchildren, Timothy and Natalee; sister Pauline Cox and husband, Bob, of Aberdeen, MD; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fetterman was preceded in death by her husband, George Fetterman;  brothers, John Schumm, William Schumm; and sisters, Catherine Hughes and Edith Reams. Memorial contributions may be made to H.I.K.E. , Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment, in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, December 9, 2012, 2 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, December 9, 2012, 12 Noon until 2 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. An Eastern Star service will take place prior to the funeral. Pastor Michael Caldwell of Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate.
