Bobby James Daniel

Bobby James Daniel, 82 yrs, of Port Deposit, MD, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at his residence. Born April 21, 1931 in Manchester, GA, he was the son of the late Charlie “Homer” and Lexie Smith Daniel. Mr. Daniel is a retired Sgt.1st Class of the U.S. Army with a 22 year career in ordinance.  He served in the Korean Conflict and in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD, a life member of the American Legion Post No. 194 of Rising Sun, MD, and a life member of the Jerry Skrivanek V.F.W. Post 8185 of Port Deposit, MD.  Mr. Daniel was also an avid wood worker and enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens play. Mr. Daniel is survived by his son, Jerry Daniel of Port Deposit, MD; daughter, Peggy D. Parcher of Lago Vista, TX; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Akers Daniel, who died January 18, 2013. Memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2013, 11 AM, at the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013, 10 AM until 11 AM, at the church.  Rev. Ken Shackelford of Pleasant View Baptist Church will officiate.
