Bruce Lee Peart, 52 yrs, of Newark, DE, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at his home. Born June 9, 1959 in Elkton, MD, he was the son of James W. Peart of Charlestown, MD, and June I. Walstrum Blakeley and husband, Walter, of Port Deposit, MD.
Bruce was employed by the Local Union 1 PA/DE Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers of Philadelphia, PA, as a brick and stone mason. He is survived by his daughters, Trisha L. Clayton and husband, John, of Aberdeen, MD, Sara L. Grayson and husband, Rich, of Newark, DE; and Samantha M. Peart also of Newark, DE; one granddaughter, Abigail Clayton; brothers, James Peart and wife, Bernnie, of Parkville, MD, John Peart and wife, Ivonne, of Tampa, FL, Willie Steele and wife, Tammy, of North East, MD, Jeff Blakeley and wife Terri, of Rising Sun, MD; sister, Theresa Jackson and husband, Mark, of Port Deposit, MD; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bruce loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman who also loved crabbing and deer hunting with family and friends. He enjoyed watching Nascar racing and his favorite baseball team was the Baltimore Orioles. Bruce’s happiest moments were spent with his daughters and family. Bruce was a very skilled craftsman and took pride in all his work. He was loved greatly and will be missed dearly.
Bruce was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Mabel Walstrum and niece, Brittany Nicole Peart.
Memorial services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 3 PM, at Hopewell United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 1 PM until 3 PM, at the church prior to the memorial service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
