Cecilia Edna (Cooper) Grace

Cecilia Edna Cooper Grace “Ceal”, 83 years, of Charlestown, MD, died at her residence Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Born September 28, 1928, in Elkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Clifford and Edna Anderson Cooper. Secretary at Charlestown Elementary School of Charlestown, MD, for 27 years, Ceal officially retired on April 1, 1993. She was a life-long and very active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Charlestown, MD, participated in several area ministries such as: the Women’s Cecil County Detention Center, Perryville United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen and the Aberdeen Proving Ground Thanksgiving Dinner for servicemen. Ceal is survived by her children, James Anderson Grace, Leonardtown, MD, Gerald Owens Grace, Mt. Airy, MD, Claudia G. Patterson, Perryville, MD, Brian Claude Grace, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, James Anderson Grace, Jr., Jonathan Herbert Grace, Kathryn Rose Grace, Jason Claude Grace, Richard Shenton Grace, Thomas M. Patterson, Jr., Chelsea Elizabeth Grace, Kiera Marie Grace; great grandchildren, Jameson William Grace, Olivia Grace Patterson; sister, Nell C. Deibert of Elkton, MD; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ceal was preceded in death by her adored husband, Claude G. Grace, and sister, Charlotte Ann Garves. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 1, 2011, 11 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitations for family and friends will be held Monday, October 31, 2011, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, at the funeral home.  Rev. Gerald O. Grace of Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church of Woodbine, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Charlestown Cemetery, Charlestown, MD. Arrangements by Lee A.
