Charles Francis Jones, Jr.

Charles Francis Jones, Jr., 73 yrs, of Conowingo, MD, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Born December 15, 1941 in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Charles F. Jones and Virginia McGlothlin Shinault. Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed as a Foreman by the former Chrysler Corporation of Newark, DE. He was an avid history buff, enjoyed traveling, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; riding his motor cycle, driving his challenger, gardening and keeping in touch with his Facebook friends around the world. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Lou Walstrum Jones of Conowingo, MD; children, Charlotte Akers of Port Deposit, Calvin Jones and wife, Debbie, of Colora, Penny Hamilton and husband, Ed, of Elkton, Tina Pennell and husband, Gerry, of Conowingo; grandchildren, Samantha Poff and husband, Mikey, of Conowingo, Nichole Hamilton of North East, Tyler Pennell of Conowingo, Wyatt Jones of Port Deposit, Jayme Kohlbus of Colora, Kayven Kohlbus of Colora; great grandchildren, little Mikey, Aiden and Gradey; brother, David Jones of Baltimore, MD; and sister, Patricia Edler of Cocoa, FL In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Jones; sisters, Melanie Richards and Peggy Jones. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2015, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, June 8, 2015, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Steven Sheldon of Wrightsdale Baptist Church of Peach Bottom, PA, will officiate. Interment will be in Harmony Chapel Cemetery of Liberty Grove, MD.
