Charles Eugene Mccarthy, Jr.

Charles Eugene McCarthy, Jr., 87 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Saturday, November 26, 2011, in Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD.  Born February 25, 1924, in Perry Point, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Eugene, Sr., and Mary Alice Campbell McCarthy. Gene was retired from the Penn Central Railroad following 33 year of service an engineer. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Perryville, MD, a veteran of the United States Navy, and a member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD. Gene is survived by his wife, Esther L. Thompson McCarthy of Perryville, MD; daughter, Kathleen A. McCarthy Creswell of Perryville, MD; son-in-law, Stephen L. Creswell of Perryville, MD; 3 grandsons; 1 great grandson; and sister, Mary Dorothy Berger. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services will be private.  Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD. Arrangements by Lee A.
