Christy Matthew Meekins

Christy Matthew Meekins, 80 years, of North East, MD, passed away Friday, October 16, 2026 at home. Born November 14, 1945 in Elkton, MD, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Lucy Maria Sacconey Meekins.

Christy graduated North East High School June 10, 1963. Following high school, he worked for the former C&P Telephone Company as a lineman from 1964 until 1967, then as a cable splicer until 1992.

Christy is survived by his cousin, Richard Meekins and wife, Kelly, of North East, MD; nephew, Michael Hammilton and wife Lori, of Kendall Park, NJ and friends, Homer Welch of North East, MD, Ron & Kathy Gray, of North East, MD, Janet Bow, and Betty Hollenbaugh of Middletown, DE. His loving pets Lucy, Molly, Mandy, Pepper, Onyx and Spider-Man.

In addition to his parents, Christy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Carolyn Boyd Meekins.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
