Collin Scott Baldwin, 21, of Conowingo, Maryland, was born April 19, 2004, in Elkton, Maryland. Collin passed away suddenly at home on April 2, 2026, leaving behind a powerful presence that will never be forgotten.
Collin was a gentle soul—kind, loyal, and deeply caring. He had a good heart and was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a love for a wide range of music. He also loved nature and enjoyed going to the movies, finding comfort and joy in the simple things. He was incredibly witty, with a sharp sense of humor that could catch you off guard and make you laugh when you needed it most. He was someone people could go to for advice; he felt and loved deeply. He carried a softness in his heart that those closest to him knew well. He had a million-dollar smile and the most beautiful eyes that so many will always remember.
He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School and worked at Smithfield Foods. Collin was known for the way he showed up for the people he loved. He wasn’t loud, but he was steady—the kind of person whose love was felt more in his actions than his words, but whose quick wit and humor could light up a room in his own unique way. He adored his girlfriend, Autumn, and cherished the time they spent together. He also loved his car and found peace in driving with no destination, simply enjoying the road ahead. Collin enjoyed working out and lifting weights, and he took pride in his appearance, always wanting to look and feel his best. At the same time, he had a love for food and is the only person we know who would drive an hour just to try a milkshake. He had two cats, Ace and Leo, who he cared for and loved.
He is the beloved son of Julie and Travis Melrath and Brian Baldwin. He is the cherished grandson of Carol Buckland, Bernie Melrath, Rita Ivie, and Mikey and Nancy Kahl. He is survived by his siblings Brian, Shaylee, Madison, Scarlet, Sawyer, Harper, and Blake, along with nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will carry his memory with them always.
Collin is preceded in death by his grandfather, Clifford Scott Brown, and his uncle, Joshua Scott Brown, whom he loved deeply.
Collin was loved immensely, and that love does not end here. It lives on in every memory, every song, every laugh, and every quiet moment where he is still felt.
As Collin’s mom, I never imagined having to write my son’s obituary. You can’t put all that he was into words—there was so much to him. I will forever cherish the bond that we had and the closeness we shared as a family. Collin knew he could always count on us, and he will be missed beyond measure. I would like to encourage anyone who would like to stand up and share thoughts or memories of Collin to please do so. We would love to hear how Collin touched your life. If you would like to write something and are scared to share, we can have someone read it for you.
