Daniel Lee Wilson

Daniel was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene. Daniel was employed as a welder by International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local No. 13. He was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley Academy of New Market, VA. Daniel played ASA fast-pitch softball, enjoyed being in his garden, spending time with his grandson, Colin, and giving him rides on his golf cart. He was a huge Steeler and Pirates fan, he enjoyed fishing and crabbing, and taking vacations in Chincoteague, VA, with his wife, Dona. Daniel was a very hard worker, and a very kind and generous individual. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Dona Nester Wilson of Rising Sun, MD; daughter, Laura Wilson Valz; grandson, Colin Valz; brothers, John S. Wilson, Barry W. Wilson and Stephen Wilson; and sister, Gwendolyn Wilson Readler. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brothers, David “Hollywood” Wilson and William “Bill” Wilson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene Infant Day Care Fund in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2015, 11 AM, at the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, November 27, 2015, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Dana S. Howard of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
