Dareene Mary (Hetrick) Sexton

Dareene Mary Sexton, 79 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 in the Calvert Manor Nursing Home of Rising Sun, MD. Born September 25, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Thelma Manger Hetrick.

For many years, Dareene was a dedicated Data Collector at the Aberdeen Proving Ground of Aberdeen, MD. She will be remembered as a very hardworking individual who was loved by many.

Dareene was cherished by her family and friends and her memory will be forever treasured by her daughters.

Dareene is survived by her daughters, Stacie Sexton, Michele Nichols (Edward Nichols, Jr,), and Christina Smith (Brandon Kent); grandchildren, Meghan Bishop (Robert), Jon Copeland, Kenneth Howell, Jr. (Natalie Ellwood), Dillon Howell (April Ray), and Nikole Osani; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dareene was preceded in death by her brother, Teddy Hetrick, sons-in-law, Kenneth Howell, Sr., and Mitchell Osani; great-granddaughter, Tiahna Howell; and grandson, Andrew Ferg.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, February 9, 2024, 11 AM, at the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church, 3414 Cedar Church Road, Darlington, MD. Flowers should be delivered to the church.

Darlene will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Her legacy of hard work and love for her family will live on in our hearts forever.
