David Hanson Mackenzie

David Hanson MacKenzie, 79 years, of Bowie, MD, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Prince George’s Hospital of Cheverly, MD. Born August 5, 1937 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Roderick and Martha Emily Ruth Eastman MacKenzie. Mr. MacKenzie was a veteran of the United States Navy and formerly employed as a technical draftsman by  Radian, Inc. of Alexandria, VA. He is survived by his wife, Mezzy Landis MacKenzie of Bowie, MD; sons, David MacKenzie, Jr., of Bowie, MD, and Kenneth MacKenzie of Lugoff, SC; daughter, Sharon MacKenzie Wooten of Elkton, MD;  9 grandchildren; and sister, Susan MacKenzie Beall of Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 1, 2017, 12 Noon, at the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Dr. Harold Phillips of the Pleasant View Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mount Airy, MD.
