Dorothy Mae (Poff) Molloy

Dorothy Mae Molloy, 87 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 in the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center of Bel Air, MD. Born June 7, 1937 in Port Deposit, MD, she was the daughter of the late Crosier Elton and Virginia Dare Bumgarner Poff.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Kimberly D. Blakeley, Vickie S. Dietz (Ron), Sheryl L. Kriley (Tom), and daughter – in- law Carol Molloy. Seven grandchildren and four great-children, with one on the way.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Joseph A. Molloy, Sr., son Joseph A. Molloy, Jr., son- in- law Russell C. Blakeley, brothers Walter L. Poff, and Charles E. Poff and sisters Ruth A. Curry and Lois M. Wilson.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family, she was a devoted wife and mother. She was welcoming to all and made everyone feel as if they were part of her family.  She loved cooking, baking, gardening and taking care of all animals. She enjoyed spending time outdoors sitting on her porch swing.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Amedisys Hospice Foundation in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, December 15, 2024, 2 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024, 1 PM until 2 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of the Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be private.
