Dorothy Ann Griffin, 74 years, of Port Deposit, MD, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD. Born October 14, 1936, in Port Deposit, MD, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Brown and Elsie Pennington Thomas Dorsey.
Dorothy was employed in Food Services by the former Bainbridge Naval Training Center, Bainbridge, MD. She is survived by her sons, Tyrone Brown, Antoine N. Griffin, Larry N. Griffin, all of Elkton, MD; daughters, Vonzella Denise Wright, Port Deposit, MD, and Catherine Rosemont Griffin, Elkton, MD; daughter-in-law, Carmen Eugenia Griffin; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Franklin “Barney” Stewart, Sr.; sister, Florence Pennington Dorsey Boddy; brother-in-law; George Griffin, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Cora Griffin and Ruth Ann Nacho Lee; long-time friends, Eleanor “Pee Wee” Gaylord and Signolia Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Nathaniel Griffin, one brother, Richard “Peanut” Wilson Dorsey, and a number of sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 9, 2011, 11 AM, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, May 8, 2011, 6-8 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Father Jay McKee of Good Shepherd Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.
