Douglas Merritt Lidy, Sr.

Douglas Merritt Lidy, Sr., 64, of Conowingo, MD, died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at his residence. Born November 10, 1950 in General Hospital of Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Gladys Mae Harding Lidy. Mr. Lidy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was employed as a diesel mechanic for the last 40 years. Mr. Lidy is survived by his daughter, Robyn Jean Lidy Broomell and husband, Russell, of Rising Sun, MD; daughter-in-law, Ashley Elizabeth Louque Lidy; grandchildren, Matthew & Amanda Broomell and Ava & Maya Lidy; and brother, Donald Frank Lidy, Sr., of Dayton, NJ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lidy was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Merritt Lidy, Jr. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 2015, 2 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015, 12 Noon until 2 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of Asbury United Methodist Church and Tome Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
