Dyer Bennett

Dyer Bennett, 87 years, of Perryville, MD, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025 in the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center of Bel Air, MD. Born January 18, 1938 in Beverly, WV, he was the son of the late Gordon and Flossie Chilgren Bennett.

Dyer was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD, and a member of the Asbury Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD. He was formerly employed by the Aberdeen Proving Ground Edgewood Arsenal of Aberdeen, MD, as a warehouse technician.

Dyer is survived by his son, Dyer Mitchner Bennett and his wife Erin Graney Bennett, and sisters, Carol Bennett and Nancy Bennett Pennington.

Dyer was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Bennett; brothers, Gordon Bennett, Adam Bennett, Edjel Bennett, and Clarence Bennett; and sisters, Sal Bennett Lines, Christine Bennett Slayman, and Dorothy Bennett Harris.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2025, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025, 11 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of Asbury Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
