Erma Ruth (Brooks) Anthony

Erma Ruth Anthony, 79 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center of Rising Sun, MD. Born June 22, 1938 in Campbell County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Willie I. and Stella Palmer Brooks. Mrs. Anthony was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church of Havre de Grace, MD, a graduate of Perryville High School Class of 1957, and was formerly employed by the Citizens Nursing Home of Havre de Grace, MD, as a Housekeeping Supervisor. Mrs. Anthony is survived by her husband, Jack E. Anthony of Port Deposit, MD; sons, Wm. Eugene Rakes, Phillip C. Rakes, Daryl W. Rakes and Richard A. Rakes; step-sons, Mark H. Anthony, Leonard B. Anthony and Mario L. Anthony; 25 grandchildren; and17 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anthony was preceded in death by her son, David D. Rakes, and brother, Stanley I. Brooks. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 15, 2018, 1 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, January 15, 2018, 11 AM until 1 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Donald Smith of the Antioch Baptist Church of Havre de Grace, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
