Erma McDougal Keetley, 90 years of age from Port Deposit, MD, passed away July 20, 2011 at Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center in Havre de Grace, MD. She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Amelia Campbell McDougal of Port Deposit, MD.
Mrs. Keetley grew up in Port Deposit, MD, and was a 1938 graduate of The Jacob Tome Institute in Port Deposit. Upon her marriage to William H. Keetley, Sr., she assisted him in his business, The Keetley Motor Company. Mrs. Keetley was a trial magistrate, served on the town council and was Mayor of Port Deposit. She worked for over 20 years at the Elkton Court House in the Marriage License Bureau.
After her husband’s death in 2005, Mrs. Keetley became a resident of Golden Legends Assisted Living outside of Port Deposit for over 4 years before moving to Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors include two sons, William H. Keetley, Jr., of Havre de Grace, Kenneth W. Keetley and wife, Kay, of Havre de Grace. One granddaughter, Renee Keetley Ewing and husband, Greg, of Port Deposit, four grandsons, William H. Keetley, III, of North East, MD, Richard A. Keetley and wife, Jennifer, of Forest Hill, MD, Matthew M. Saylor and wife, Patty, of Port Deposit, Chad A. Saylor and wife, Aimee, of Perryville. Nine great-grandchildren, Zachary and Alex Ewing of Port Deposit, Morgan and Cameron Keetley of Port Deposit, Colton and Isabella Keetley of Forrest Hill, Joshua and Matthew Saylor of Port Deposit and Megen Saylor of Perryville.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Keetley was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, William H. Keetley, Sr., daughter, Vicki Keetley Saylor, brother, Marvin W. McDougal of Port Deposit, three sisters, Betty McNutt of Fallston, Lorraine Spence of Havre de Grace and Lois Duff of Port Deposit.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 23, 2011, 11AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011, 10AM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Father John Abrahams will officiate. Interment will be in Angel Hill Cemetery in Havre de Grace, MD.
