Estelle Caroline (Grove) Jensen

Estelle Caroline Jensen, 96 years old, of Conowingo, MD, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at home surrounded by family.  Born February 28, 1928 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Ella Smith Grove.

Mrs. Jensen was a life-long member of the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Perryville, MD, the St. Mark’s Ladies Auxiliary, and the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 Ladies Auxiliary of Perryville, MD. She was formerly employed by the V.A. Medical Center of Perry Point, MD, as a laundry supervisor.

Mrs. Jensen is survived by her sons, Charles M. Jensen and Glenn A. Jensen; daughter, Nancy A. Addison; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and brothers, William Grove and Ralph Grove.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jensen was preceded in death by her husband, Meyer Wallace Jensen; brothers, Charles Grove, Ferdinand Grove, Jr., Frank Grove, Harold Grove, and David Grove; and sisters, Irene Conover, Bernadette Towson, and Janet Kreigemeyer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church or the Amedisys Hospice Foundation in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2024, 11 AM, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 175 St. Marks Church Road, Perryville, MD. The Reverend Susan Oldfather will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Perryville, MD.  To honor Estelle’s passion for the Baltimore Orioles, attendees are invited to wear Oriole apparel or team colors.  A reception will be held at the parish hall.
