Etta (Barclay) Meck

Etta Barclay Meck, 94 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Monday, October 24, 2011, in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Rising Sun, MD.  Born April 21, 1917, in Holtwood, PA, she was the daughter of the late Allison and Helen Shaub Barclay. Mrs. Meck was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Perryville, MD, the Altar Guild, Women’s ECW and choir. She was also a 50-year member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135, Perryville, MD, and the Senior Citizens of Cecil County. Mrs. Meck is survived by her daughter, Carole A. Loveless, North East, MD; 8 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Louise B. Pittman, LaPlata, MD, Margaret B. Hollowell, Port Deposit, MD; daughter-in-law, Patsie S. Meck; and son-in-law, James Reynolds. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Meck was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel S. Meck, Sr., son, Daniel S. Meck, Jr.; daughter, Mary Helen Reynolds; brothers, Charles J. Barclay, John W. Barclay, Robert A. Barclay, Donald E. Barclay; and sister, Emma B. Fisher. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 27, 2011, 11 AM, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Perryville, MD.  Father Robert R. Smith and Father Daniel S. Meck, III, grandson,  will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Perryville, MD. Arrangements by Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD.
