Franklin "Bud" Edward Ward

Franklin "Bud" Edward Ward, 89, of Colora, MD, went home to Heaven on July 15, 2025. Bud was born in Coalwood, WV, on November 28, 1935 to parents Kyle and Mary Ward.

Bud worked with his father cutting timber for the coal mining industry and later moved to Maryland where he was employed at Lockjoint Corporation as a welder and machine operator for 41 years. He loved fishing and hunting, and spending time with friends and family. Bud loved to garden, and he enjoyed eating the produce from his harvest. He loved southern cooking, especially biscuits and gravy, pinto beans and fried cornbread. Old "Spaghetti Westerns" were his favorite pastime. In his later years, Bud could always be found at the Great Commission Church listening to his son preach.

Bud is survived by his sisters, Phyllis and Francis; brother, Alan; children, Blake and Karen; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys and Barbara; brothers, Harry and Lacy; son, Michael; and grandson, Tim.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025, 10 AM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, July 20, 2025, 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.
