Frederick Bernard Mott, Jr.

Frederick Bernard Mott, Jr., 77 years, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 in the University of Maryland Medical Center of Baltimore, MD. Born April 27, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Frederick Bernard, Sr. and Ann Celyne Ramson Mott, and step-mother, the late Edna Briggs Mott.

Fred was a member of the Blenheim Lodge No. 102 I.O.O.F., Inc., of Aberdeen, MD, and the Water Witch Fire Company of Port Deposit, MD. He was formerly employed by Hickory International as a diesel truck mechanic.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Karen Joann Mott of Rising Sun, MD; sons, Ronald Paul Miller and Brian Keith Mott; daughters, Lori Anne Hood and Karen Louise Lucas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Celyne Gordon.

Fred was a generous loving man and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, He always had a smile and a hug and kiss to greet you with. His passion for the fire company and the Odd Fellows Lodge was tremendous.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Water Witch Fire Company of Port Deposit or to Karen Mott, as Fred was her primary source of care, in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD, 21903-0766.

Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Saturday, January 6, 2024, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Interment will be private.
