Gloria Constance (Warner) Rogers

Gloria Constance Rogers, 93 years, of Perryville, Maryland died Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the Lorien Bulle Rock nursing facility of Havre de Grace, MD. Born March 12, 1923 in Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Donald and Ada Warner. Mrs. Rogers is survived by her sons, Melvin C. Rogers, Jr. of Pensacola, FL, James D. Rogers of Perryville, MD, George D. Rogers of North East, MD; daughters, Susan A. Mintle of Des Moines, IA, and Rebecca W. Preston of Bel Air, MD; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and brother, Donald Warner of Duryea, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Rogers was the wife of Melvin Rogers married, May 5, 1945 in Wyoming, Pennsylvania. Gloria worked for Western Union in Maryland where she met Melvin who was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Before settling down in their Perryville Home with their five children Gloria and Melvin lived in Indiantown Gap, PA, Havre de Grace, MD, Germany and Aberdeen, MD. Gloria and Melvin were married for 68 years upon his death on November 1, 2013. In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, Morris Warner, her sisters, Rebecca Gerboc and Gladys Carroll. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Rev. Patricia Drost of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Perryville, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.
