Hattie Elaine (Barker) Barton

Hattie Elaine Barker Barton, 81 yrs, of Peach Bottom, PA, died Thursday, October 6, 2011, at her residence. Born June 19, 1930, in West Jefferson, NC, she was a daughter of the late David C. and Susie E. Dishman Barker. Mrs. Barton was a member of Porter’s Grove Baptist Church, Conowingo, MD, and formerly employed as an in-home caretaker.  She loved reading and writing poetry, was a writer of short stories, was a talented artist who loved to paint and was a talented musician. Mrs. Barton is survived by her sons, Howard T. Barton and Steven R. Barton, both of Supply, NC, Larry C. Barton, Statesville, NC; daughters, Marcella A. Barton Sheets, Peach Bottom, PA, Sandra E. Barton Cox, Bishopville, MD, Susan E. Barton Hornbarger, Perryville, MD; 23 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and sister, Minnie Barker Houck, Conowingo, MD. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barton was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Clinton Barton; son, James D. Barton; brothers, Larry Barker, David Barker, Arthur Barker; sisters, Jenny B. Maines, Martha B. Absher, Bessie B. Brackins, Nellie B. Boone, Georgia B. Musser and Nan B. Wyatt. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lancaster County Pennsylvania Hospice in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 11, 2011, 1 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., 1495 Clayton Street, Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011, 11 AM until 1 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.  Pastor Windell Pell of the Restoration Family Worship Center, Peach Bottom, PA, will officiate.
