Helen Jackson Harrington, 87 yrs, of Rising Sun, MD, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at her residence. Born August 4, 1924 in Hemphill, WVA, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Virgie Widener Thomas.
Helen was a veteran of the United States Army having served during W.W. II. and was formerly employed by Aberdeen Proving Ground of Aberdeen, MD, as an accounting clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Paige A. Harrington; son, Leonard R. Jackson; daughters, Beverly Leonard and Susan A. Hasson; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Kitty Akers, Shirley McDaniel, Phyllis Moore; and special friend, Terry Carr.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Thomas, William Thomas, Joseph Thomas; sisters, Carolyn Thomas and Joyce Palmer.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2012, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012, 11 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Rev. David Rash of St. John’s Church of Lewisville, PA, will officiate. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD.
