Herbert Johnson Yeatman, Jr.

Herbert Johnson Yeatman, Jr., 86 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his residence.  Born December 21, 1926 in Media, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert J., Sr. and Florence Marshall Yeatman. Mr. Yeatman was a graduate of  Media High School, Media, PA, where he excelled in sports and  was a member of the Media Area Sports Hall of Fame. He also attended the University of Miami. Mr. Yeatman was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Pacific during WW II. He was a former Town Commissioner of Perryville, the owner/operator of the former Yeatman Water Company and Yeatman Buses. He was a lifetime member of the Perryville Volunteer Fire Company and a lifetime member of the Havre de Grace V.F.W. Post No. 8126. He was a member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville and a member of the Teamster Local. He enjoyed art, music and travel. Mr. Yeatman is survived by his son, Herbert J. Yeatman, III; daughters, Denise Y. Porter, Diane Y. McBride, Lisa Y. Cordell, Linda K. Yeatman; twelve (12) grandchildren; and ten (10) great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Yeatman was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Anders Yeatman, and granddaughter, Katherine Lyn Porter. A memorial service has been scheduled for Sunday, October 27, 2013, 1 PM until 4 PM, at the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD. Arrangements by Lee A.
