Howard David Reed

Howard David Reed, 87 years, of Port Deposit, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home. Born December 19, 1929 in Conowingo, MD, he was the son of the late Elmer David and Pearl McCullough Reed. Mr. Reed was a member of the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church of Oxford, PA, and a former truck driver employed by Gilbert of Havre de Grace, MD. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the USS Saipan Cvl 48 Association, and a member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD. Mr. Reed is survived by his son, Donald David Reed of North East, MD, and daughter, Lisa Ewing of Port Deposit, MD; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Theresa Sacco-Reed. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2017, 11 AM, at the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church of Nottingham, PA. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017, 9 AM until 11 AM, at the church prior to the funeral service. Rev. Gary S. Moore of the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Erin Cemetery, Havre de Grace, MD.
