James Joseph Blythe

James Joseph Blythe, age 69, of Rising Sun, MD, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at his residence. Born June 25, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late George Francis and Bridget O’Brien Blythe. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War and was a three-time recipient of the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife, Diana Shawkey-Blythe of Rising Sun, MD; sons, Eric Blythe and Marc Sutkus; daughters, Bonnie Blythe, Michelle Sutkus, Kimmee Foutty; grandchildren, Jessica Blythe, Ashlee Foutty, Kayla Blythe, Amber Foutty; sisters, Frances Garvine, Margaret Flasinski and Ruth Trzeciak; numerous nieces and nephews and loving friends. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sons, Lawrence James Blythe and Keith Shawkey; and brother, Lawrence Blythe. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, November 23, 2014, 4 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014, 1 PM until 4 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Father Jay McKee of Good Shepherd Parish of Perryville, MD, will officiate. Interment will be private.
