James Samuel Johnson, 81yrs, of Port Deposit, MD, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 in the V.A. Maryland Health Care System of Perry Point, MD. Born February 1, 1933 in Marion, NC, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Lola Coe Johnson.
Jim was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean Conflict.
In 1967 Jim established Jim Johnson’s Fine Cars of Perryville, MD, and the business is still in operation to this day.
Jim is survived by his wife, June Doss Johnson of Port Deposit, MD; sons, Randy Johnson and wife, Ellen, of Port Deposit, MD, Jeff Johnson and wife, Regina, of North East, MD, Andy Johnson and wife, Jeannie, and Mark Johnson, both of Port Deposit, MD; seven grandchildren, James Webb, Linsey Webb Winkey, Tiffany Taylor, Cody Johnson, Randi Allen, Taylor Johnson, Drew Johnson; 2 great grandchildren, Levi Allen, Dakota Taylor; brothers, Robert Johnson and Scotty Johnson; and sister, Linda Johnson Krummel.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry Johnson, Jr. and Ned Johnson; and sister, Hazel Johnson Norman.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2014, 1 PM, at Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014, 11 AM until 1 PM, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Dr. Harold Phillips of Pleasant View Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Principio Cemetery, Perryville, MD.
