James Albert Page, 81 yrs, of Perryville, MD, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at home. Born December 6, 1932 in Perryville, MD, he was the son of the late James K. and Lois Mae Hasson Page.
Jimmy was a graduate of Perryville High School and served as a Corporal in the United States Army in Kaiserslautern, Germany as a Disciplinary Guard from 1953 until 1955. He retired in 1988 from the Ballistics Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground as a carpenter. Jimmy was a member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD, and the National Riffle Association. Jimmy’s favorite hobby was working on firearms, reading and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Mae Edwards Page of Perryville; daughter, Linda Page Hindman and late husband, Michael, of Perryville; son, James E. Page and wife, Wendy, of Rising Sun; daughter, Jo Ann Page of Perryville; grandsons, Kenneth J. Page of Rising Sun and Tyler M. Hindman of Perryville; sisters, Margaret Joan McCardell and husband, Willard, of Perryville and Beverly J. McMillan and late husband, Ed, of Perryville; sisters-in-law, Pauline Page of Perryville and Betty Page of North East. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl J. Page of Perryville and John R. Page of North East.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, January 12, 2014, 3 PM, at the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, January 12, 2014, 2 PM until 5 PM, at the legion. Pastor Michael Caldwell of Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be private.
