James "Jimmy" Whiteford Kemp, Iii

James “Jimmy” Whiteford Kemp, III, 81 years, of North East, MD, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 in the ChristianaCare Union Hospital of Elkton, MD. Born February 25, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late James Whiteford Kemp, Jr., and Mary Carroll Denison Kemp.

Jimmy was formerly employed as a material handler by the General Instruments Corporation and by the Morgan Millwork of Hunt Valley, Towson, MD, in their computer entry systems.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gail Elizabeth Vasold Kemp; son, Joseph Michael Kemp; daughter, Shannon Denison Kemp; brothers, Charles Carroll Kemp and Louis Denison Kemp; sisters, Mary Carroll Worthington and Eugenia Kemp Platt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Cromwell Kemp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Shriners Hospital for Children in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 6 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024, 4 PM until 6 PM, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Father Jay McKee of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Perryville, MD, will officiate. Interment will be private.
