Janice Marie (Forsythe) Gardner

Janice Marie (Forsythe) Gardner, 81, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Hospital, Bel Air, MD, surrounded by her loving family. Born September 3, 1932 in Eddington, ME, Janice was the daughter of the late Margaret (Costello) Forsythe, and James L. Forsythe.  Janice was a faithful member of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, Colora, MD, an avid reader, and a loving mother and grandmother. Janice is survived by her daughter, Marie E. Gardner of Ellsworth, ME; her 2 sons, Bill Gardner (wife Kim), and Jim Gardner, both of Rising Sun, MD.  Janice also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William (Bill) M. Gardner in 1994, and her youngest son David Gardner in 2009. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, Colora, MD in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. A memorial service is scheduled from 7-9 P.M. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville, MD. Rev. Richard A. Moore of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
