Jerry Thomas Lyons

Jerry Thomas Lyons, 87 years, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Born June 7, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Louis Eskefier and Grace Lyons Eaton.

Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean War on the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea. Following his honorable discharge as a Petty Officer 3rd Class and some time working in private industry, Jerry accepted a position in 1962 as a photographer at the U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground, where he spent the rest of his 38-year federal career. He retired in 1996 as the Chief of the Technical Photography Branch.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Charlotte A. Lyons of Perryville, MD; step-daughters, Kimber Hill and Shellee Grant; four step-grandchildren; and two great step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

A private service will be held at a later date.
