Jessie (Boothe) Ward

Jessie Ward, 79, formerly of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away at her residence in Olive Hill, KY, on January 5, 2023.

Born April 17, 1943 in Renick, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Flossie McCormick Boothe.

Jessie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard; daughter, Cathy (Terry) Sweeney; grandchildren, Chris Wassum, Andrea (Chris) DeBoard, and Leah (Donald) Beller; four great grandchildren she loved dearly, Brendan and Madelynn DeBoard, Conner and Jurnee Beller.

Jessie was known for her famous pancakes, pumpkin rolls and holiday baking with her family, often referred to as Grandma Pancakes. She also enjoyed gardening, hosting friends and family during the holidays and crocheting but most of all she loved watching the sunsets and hallmark movies with Richard.

Jessie will be greatly missed and we know she is rejoicing in heaven with her daughter, Carol Wassum.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 12, 2023, 11 AM, at the First Christian Church, 800 Giles Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023, 10 AM until 11 AM, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Bergan Morris of the First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.
