Jewell Dean Booher, 91 years, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 13, 2025. Born August 8, 1933 in Mountain City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Roy Butler and Emma Willien Hammons.
Jewell was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and liked to spend time with, and cook for, her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to visit with relatives or just see the country.
Jewell is survived by her sons, Stephen Paul Booher and wife, Alicia, of Elkton, MD, and James Edward Booher and wife, Sandra, of Elkton, MD; four grandsons, Eric Booher (Carrie), Craig Booher, Jeremy Booher (Ashley), and Matthew Booher; and seven great-grandchildren, Christian Bailey Peters, Alexander Booher, Landan Booher, Sage Booher, Ivy Booher, Olive Booher, and Noel Booher.
In addition to her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Paul Edward Booher; grandson, James Booher, Jr.; brothers, Lacy Hammons, Wade Hammons, James Edger Hammons, Kenneth Hammons, Robert Hammons, R.B. Hammons, Wayne Willien; and sisters, Maude Blanche Hammons, Ida Edwards, Velma Farmer, and Ruby Potter.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, 2025, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Dr. Harold Phillips of the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Perryville, MD.
