Joan Elaine (Owens) Larue

Joan Elaine LaRue, 73 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 in the University of Maryland Harford Memorial Hospital of Havre de Grace, MD. Born December 28, 1943 in Elkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Richard, Sr., and Grace Young Owens. Joan was retired from the V.A. Medical Center of Perry Point, MD, where she was employed as a Dietary Aide. She is survived by her husband, Earl W. LaRue, Jr., of Port Deposit, MD; sons, Paul Anthony LaRue and Earl W. LaRue III of Port Deposit, MD; daughters, Linda Lee LaRue of Newark, DE, Paula A. LaRue of Port Deposit, MD, and Geraldine E. LaRue of Perryville, MD; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Calvin Owens, Kenneth Owens, Waymond Owens; sisters, Margaret Elizabeth Cannon and Margaret Patricia Weathers; and a host of nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her brothers; Henry Shannon, Richard Owens, Jr., Leonard Owens; sisters, Jeanette Shockley, Betty Bond, Marva Owens, Jacalyn Owens and Blanche Owens. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 23, 2017, 12:30 PM, at the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017, 11 AM until 12:30 PM, at the church. Rev. Duane Rawlings of Baltimore, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in Berkley Cemetery, Darlington, MD.
