John Harvey Mccardell

John Harvey McCardell, 79 yrs, of Colora, MD, passed Monday, May 13, 2024 at home. Born March 4, 1945 in Maryland he was the son of the late Horace Searle and Mary E. Pyle McCardell.

John was a member of the Truth and Life Church of North East, MD, and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from the former Chrysler Corporation of Newark, DE.

John is survived by his sons, John H. McCardell II and James Newton McCardell; daughters, Amy Marie Wagner and Wendy Lynn Milledge and husband, Scott; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Lander.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann McCardell; infant son; brother, Francis McCardell; and sisters, Josephine Craig, Elma McGlothlin, Sarah Krauss, Barbara Roarke, Mary Moore and Susan Milliner.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 20, 2024, 12 Noon, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, May 20, 2024, 10 AM until 12 Noon, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Rev. Ray Johnson of the Truth and Life Church will officiate. Interment will be in the West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
